And what an exciting year it’s going to be! Many things on the horizon for me as I build my music career. There are more shows to be booked, conferences to attend, festivals to perform at, songs to write and start recording my next CD!
The holidays are over and now its time to get to work. I’ve been busy emailing and making phone calls to book some shows. As always, I will notify my fans through email, Facebook and Twitter when I have an upcoming show.
A few conferences I will be attending this year will be the Vancouver Island Music Business Conference up in Courtenay in June. Visit their website http://www.vimbc.com and of course, Canadian Country Music Week which be held in Hamilton, Ontario this year.
I have applied for many festivals throughout BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan and so far I am booked in Alberta in July. Many festivals don’t make final decisions until February or March but I have my fingers crossed!
I have been writing some of my own songs but I have also been collaborating with a lyricist out of Victoria and I have to say, we make quite a team. It makes song writing so much easier when you only have to do half the work!
I am very excited that I will start on my next CD project this year. I have teamed up with producer Bart McKay out of Saskatoon (who won Recording Studio of the Year at the past CCMA’s) and in March we are planning to go to Nashville to record there. A dream come true.
