Success and Persistence

You know those days of feeling like your career or your dream are going nowhere?  And you just want to throw in the towel?  I think we all have those days and when we feel like that we just have to take a step back and look at our successes along the way.

The music business has many aspects (more than the average person realizes) and it can get your hopes up and then crash you down.  Peaks and valleys I guess one could say.  And we can't have a successful day every day.  Some would disagree - just depends on your viewpoint.  Some people have said, just getting out of bed every morning is a success!  lol     But we can take a look at what successes we have had.  For me, my success this year so far:
.  I have played 26 shows
.  Toured Alberta and BC in July
.  Played at large festivals:  Magnificent Riverrats, Merritt Mountain Music Fest, Calgary Stampede, Sunfest Country Music Festival
.  Showcased at the Vancouver Island Music Business Conference
.  Sold nearly 100 CDs and merchandise like t-shirts and photos
                                  SUCCESS!
And how do I continue to have those successes?  By being persistent - never giving up.  Food for thought - when you are driving down the highway and come upon a road block.   What do you do?  You take a detour.  You take another path, you find another way of how to get there.  Don't turn around, keep driving ahead and have

                                  PERSISTENCE!
