Hey Everyone
The last several weeks have been very, very busy for me. I’m doing all sorts of things from writing songs, working the paperwork side of the business, booking gigs, rehearsing, and of course, gigging. I did take a little break for about 5 weeks to settle things down a bit, but never really stopped…more like slowed down.
This month has seen things ramping up again. It started with tons of rehearsing and with a gig in Victoria on the 6th. This one was the big annual fundraiser dance and auction for the British Columbia Childhood Cancer Parents Association (BCCCPA - pronounced bik’ pa, for short). It was very well attended and in all over $6000 was raised. Part of that came from the auctioning off of the guitar I had some big Canadian stars sign over the past few months. (Jessie Farrell, Ridley Bent, Crystal Shawanda, Johnny Reid, and Dan Hill). It sold for $1000! Everyone was real happy about that, of course. The rest of the funds were raised through ticket sales, bar sales, and a silent auction. A big thank you goes out to Susan Kerr and all those involved for all their hard work and tireless dedication.
