As many of you are aware, I have a fund set up to help families financially that have a child battling cancer. The fund is in memory of my daughter who I lost to cancer two years ago. For more information on my story go to my home page and click on the Chantal Dubois Memorial Fund.
Funds for the memorial fund are from a combination of $3 of the sale of each CD, portion of ticket sales from some of my shows and personal/group donations.
On November 29th, my husband and I were able to meet with a family in our community who's daughter has been battling cancer for almost five years and she is only 10 years old. We were able to give the family $2000.00. As one of my relatives put it, 'it's one of those moments that hurts but feels good at the same time'.
Now the fund will start to build again and hopefully soon we will be able to help another family and then another family and so on.
